    Accommodation at Mihingo Safari Lodge

Mihingo Lodge has 12 luxury, tented rooms designed to provide guests with privacy and tranquillity. Each room has its own unique charm and character, whether it is nestled in the forest, overlooking the lake, perched on a rocky outcrop, or down by the water hole.

Although no two rooms are the same, the setting ensures that they all share stunning views and provide guests with a light and airy sanctuary, and a feeling of being alone in the bush.

Each spacious canvas tent is equipped with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, showers, and flush loos. The rooms have been sensitively designed to complement the local environment with great attention to detail. The doorways are framed by stunning pieces of dead olive wood found on the land.

The outside walls reflect the colors of the African soil, created with the help of a specialist from Lamu, Kenya, who mixed natural colored pigments into the cement.

Several of the rooms dramatically incorporate granite boulders into the design of the bathrooms. As an environmentally friendly lodge, all the lights are solar-powered and each room has its own solar-powered water heater. While sitting on your balconies, you will watch bushbucks and impalas having their own salt-licking experiences, and watch others animals as they come and go.

    Activities at the Lodge

Lake Mburo National Park is the only park where you can experience horse riding safari, all this is because of this amazing lodge. This offers you an opportunity to view wildlife while you’re already on top of another animal. Just think about it, how close you can get to the herds of zebras than using a safari vehicle, whose sound alerts animals before you could even approach them. But with a horse ride, you find the animals undisturbed, just busy with their day’s activity.

Guests who do sleep at the lodge, are always given the first priority on horse riding over guests from other neighboring lodges.

To further enhance your experience of wild Africa, Mihingo Lodge is the only lodge in Uganda to offer daytime and overnight horse safaris into the national park.

Other tourist activities that can be done while staying at Mihingo Lodge include, a game drive safari, a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, sport fishing, yoga, and guided nature walks.

Visitors to Lake Mburo National complement their stay with either a gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. They also opt for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

In Rwanda, Akagera National Park is a good copy of what Lake Mburo National Park holds in Uganda. From its zebras, impalas, waterbucks, and buffaloes, and with the same ecosystem.
