Mantana Tented Camp is one of the luxurious accommodation facilities buried within the Lake Mburo National Park, in Uganda. This camp was opened exclusively to offer a great luxurious encounter and comfort to its guests.
Mantana Tented Camp is a traditional tented camp that is fairly simple but in a great location to explore the park. The staff is friendly and charming, which makes up for the sometimes sparse decor in the camp itself.
The camp is a small and intimate luxury camp, in a beautiful setting with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of plains game. It is an ideal place to enjoy the true African wilderness and to start or finish a safari to Uganda. You will therefore be able to discover most of Uganda within the shortest distance from Kampala.
Rooms and Facilities at Mantana Tented Camp
The camp has only 9 classic tents that are well set on the wooden platforms, each of them with a great view of the park. The camp has also got solar for you, so you can have hot showers after a long day.
All rooms offer outside views over acacia woodland and some parts of the lake shores below.
The large ‘Larsen-style’ tents are set on wooden platforms, with verandahs overlooking the park. The tents themselves are simple but comfortably furnished with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. The bathrooms have flush toilets, and flasks of hot and cold water are provided next to the wash basins. Hot water is also always available for a bucket shower.
There is a lovely stone and thatch dining and bar area overlooking the lake with comfy sofas and a little open fire. This is ideal for enjoying your pre or post-dinner drinks. Meals are freshly prepared in our kitchen to the very highest standards.
The luxurious and spacious tents on wooden decks, with their large bedrooms, en-suite facilities, and verandahs, fit perfectly within the environment. They overlook the lake and the valley and are complemented by a luxurious sitting room, bar, and dining area.
Activities Around the Camp
The area around the lodge and tents is host to many resident zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, impalas, buffaloes, civet cats, and prolific bird life. The camp offers an ideal place to relax, with a cold drink after a hot and dusty game drive, a nature walking trip, or a visit to the lake with its various activities.
While staying at Mantana Tented Camp, you can make an extension to visit Bwindi Forest on a budget gorilla safari to encounter the mountain gorillas. For those that wish to see mountain gorillas in Rwanda, visit Volcanoes National Park, which is famous for gorillas and golden monkeys.
