    7 Days Lake Mburo Uganda Safari Itinerary:

    Day 1: Kampala – Lake Mburo NP

    Our driver will pick you up from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala at 07:00 am, ready for a drive to Lake Mburo National Park, with a stopover at the Equator crossing line in Masaka. You will arrive in the afternoon ready for your lunch at your lodge, and a peaceful and exclusive retreat in Lake Mburo National Park. Thereafter, a sundown game drive for your rewarding experience.

    Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Safari Lodge (high-end facility), Lake Mburo Safari Lodge (mid-range facility), or Eagles Nest Lake Mburo (budget facility). Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    Day 2: Full-day Lake Mburo National Park

    Enjoy an early morning horseback riding experience for 2 hours to see a variety of wildlife at a close quarter. These include the zebras, impala, eland, buffaloes, oribis, and Defassa waterbucks. Thereafter lunch at the comfort of your lodge you will get on an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo for a variety of hippos, which is amazing.

    Day 3: Lake Mburo – Bwindi Impenetrable

    After your morning breakfast, you will take on a mid-morning game drive en-route heading to Mbarara with a visit to Igongo Cultural Village, for another rewarding and amazing experience as you visit the Ankole museum.

    Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, you will then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops, and papyrus swamps.

    Dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany Springs (high-end lodge) or Silverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (mid-range lodge) or Buhoma Community Bandas/Wagtail Eco Camp (budget facilities). Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

    Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for the amazing gorilla trekking safari, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.

    The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas – perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort.

    The afternoon is spent on a village community walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest live. It is also a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and it is more informative and rewarding. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways of life.

    Day 5: Second Gorilla Trekking

    After breakfast, you will go for the second gorilla tracking experience but with another gorilla group. You will then return in the afternoon for relaxation and sightseeing around your safari lodge.

    Day 6: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park

    Get on an early morning drive through the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park, for a mid-morning game drive searching for the tree-climbing lions. You will also see other great mammals before proceeding to the Mweya section.

    The journey takes about 3 hours but driving through interesting features, with your lunch break at Mweya Safari Lodge.

    After lunch, a two-hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel is a worthwhile opportunity to see a variety of hippos, buffaloes, Kobs, elephants, and warthogs, among others. This trip also gives visitors a chance to see spectacular water birds along the river banks. Many who experience this launch cruise consider it as the highlight of their entire African safari.

    Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (high-end facility) or Enganzi Lodge (mid-range facility) or Simba Safari Camp (budget facility). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    Day 7: Queen Elizabeth – Entebbe Out

    Begin your day with a cup of coffee, then get on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile. Here, visitors encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, crater lakes, and a variety of bird species.

    Thereafter drive back to Kampala using Kasese – Fort Portal road via Queen Elizabeth National Park for en route game viewing if you are lucky you may spot the elephants, antelopes, and warthogs. A stop over at the Equator crossing line in Kasese is also worthwhile.

    You will enjoy the winding scenery of the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains before arriving at Fort Portal for lunch. Thereafter, you will continue to Kampala or Entebbe for your outgoing flight back home or to your next destination. Meal Plan: B & L
