Lake Mburo and Bwindi Gorilla Safari Itinerary:
Day 1: Kampala – Lake Mburo NP
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala at 07:00 am, ready for a drive to Lake Mburo National Park, with a stopover at the Equator crossing line in Masaka. You will arrive in the afternoon ready for your lunch at your lodge, and a peaceful and exclusive retreat in Lake Mburo National Park.
Get on an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo amidst a variety of hippos and other wildlife species on the shore, which is an amazing experience. Thereafter, a sundown game drive for your rewarding experience.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Safari Lodge (high-end facility), Lake Mburo Safari Lodge (mid-range facility), or Eagles Nest Lake Mburo (budget facility). Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 2: Lake Mburo – Bwindi
Enjoy an early morning horseback riding experience for 2 hours to see a variety of wildlife at a close quarter. These include the zebras, impala, eland, buffaloes, oribis, and Defassa waterbucks. Thereafter you will take on a mid-morning game drive en-route heading to Mbarara with a visit to Igongo Cultural Village, for another rewarding and amazing experience as you visit the Ankole museum.
Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, you will then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops, and papyrus swamps.

Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
Begin the day with breakfast as you get ready for the amazing gorilla trekking safari, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Ensure that you carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots among others.
The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare mountain gorillas – perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 to 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort.
The afternoon is spent on a village community walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest live. It is also a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and it is more informative and rewarding. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways of life.

Day 4: Second Gorilla Trekking Experience
After breakfast, you will go for the second gorilla tracking experience but with another gorilla group. You will then return in the afternoon for relaxation and sightseeing around your safari lodge.

Day 5: Batwa Cultural Experience
Today is dedicated to a Batwa cultural experience, where the Batwa shall demonstrate hunting and honey-gathering techniques while pointing out medicinal plants and demonstrating how to make bamboo cups. Day 6: Bwindi – Kampala/Entebbe out
After your morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala using Kasese – Fort Portal road via Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you will also enjoy an en-route game viewing and if you are lucky, you may spot the giant elephants, antelopes, and warthogs among others. A stopover at the Equator crossing line in Kasese is also necessary.
You will also enjoy the winding scenery of the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains, before arriving in Fort Portal town for your lunch. Thereafter, continue to Kampala or Entebbe to catch up on your evening flight back home. Meal Plan B & L.
