15 Days Wildlife Uganda Safari Itinerary:
Day 1: Kampala – Lake Mburo NP
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala at 07:00 am, ready for a drive to Lake Mburo National Park with a stopover at the Equator crossing line in Masaka. You will arrive in the afternoon ready for your lunch at your lodge, and a peaceful and exclusive retreat in Lake Mburo National Park. Thereafter, a sundown game drive for your rewarding experience.
Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Mburo Safari Lodge (mid-range facility). Meal Plan: Lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Full-day Lake Mburo National Park
Early morning horseback riding for 2 hours to see the wildlife at a close quarter including the zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, oribis, and Defassa waterbucks. After lunch at the comfort of your lodge, you will get on the afternoon boat cruise amidst the hippos, which is amazing.

Day 3: Lake Mburo – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
The morning takes on a mid-morning game drive en-route heading to Mbarara with a visit to Igongo Cultural Village, which is a more rewarding and amazing experience as the Ankole museum. Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. Then after lunch, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates, exotic birds, valleys, hilltops, and papyrus swamps.
Dinner and overnight stay at Silverback Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (mid-range facility). Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking – Part of Wildlife Uganda Safari
After breakfast set off early with guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet, and then spend time in awe, watching how mountain gorillas go about their activities.
Each gorilla-tracking safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming, and resting as the youngsters’ frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site has one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique and precious flora sustains roughly half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas – believed to be above 720. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together.

Day 5: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth Ishasha
Begin your day with a cup of African coffee, ready for the drive to Queen Elizabeth Nationa Park, north of Bwindi, via the Ishasha sector. The drive takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha sector, where you will take on a mid-morning game drive in search of tree-climbing lions.
Your afternoon is dedicated to relaxation and then the evening will be spent on a sunset game drive for more wildlife and photography.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ishasha Jungle Lodge. Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth Ishasha – Mweya Peninsular
Early morning guided bush walk for a closer interaction with nature. The mid-morning will be spent on a game drive in search of the tree-climbing lions. You will later drive to the Mweya side of Queen Elizabeth, which journey takes about 3 hours, but drives through interesting features.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Begin your day with a cup of coffee, then get on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queen’s Mile. Here, visitors encounter elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, crater lakes, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch.
After lunch, a two-hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel is a worthwhile opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, warthogs, etc. This trip also gives visitors a chance to see spectacular birds.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Part of Wildlife Uganda Safari
With the previous day’s memories, enjoy your breakfast as you get ready for a guided primate nature walk along Kyambura Gorge to look for the habituated chimps. You will also enjoy birding through the gorge with numerous beautiful bird species. After the primate walk, you will drive back to Mweya Safari Lodge, for your evening relaxation.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth – Kibale
Drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale forest is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy using Kasese – Fort Portal road. Enjoy the winding scenery of the foothills of Rwenzori mountain, while arriving in Fort Portal for lunch.
The afternoon is spent on a guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for an outstanding cultural visit.
Dinner and overnight stay at Primate Lodge – Forest Cottages. Meal Plan: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 10: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale
In the morning you will have breakfast and then be transferred to Kibale Forest Headquarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search of chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms, which makes it interesting.
The walk will reward you with other primates like grey-cheeked mangabeys, colobus, red-tailed, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and various butterflies.

Day 11 : Second Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale
Again, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search of chimpanzees, on the second day. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms, which makes it interesting.
The walk will reward you with other primates like grey-cheeked mangabeys, colobus, red-tailed, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and various butterflies.

Day 12: Kibale – Murchison Falls
Begin the panoramic drive northwards through Hoima’s verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms, along the Albertine Rift escarpments. After lunch, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 13: Murchison Falls National Park – Part of Wildlife Uganda Safari
After your cup of coffee, you will cross the Nile by ferry to the northern bank of the park. Your guide will help you spot Elephants, Lions, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, Waterbucks, Oribis, Bushbucks, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch.
After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, you will marvel at the toothsome hippos, and crocodiles, and over this 17 km stretch, you may see elephants, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, and crocodiles. This is also a zone of many bird species like the Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork.
There you leave the boat and start your – quite heavy – hike to the top of Murchison Falls (approx. 1 hour). See where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

Day 14: Murchison Falls National Park
After your morning breakfast, get ready for a boat trip to the Nile Delta that takes you between 4-5hrs, this is one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison Falls National Park. The trip takes you through the extensive papyrus delta, through which the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. Here again, there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. The afternoon is spent relaxing at your lodge.

Day 15: Murchison Falls – Kampala
You will wake up at 6:00 am and prepare to take a photograph of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy an African breakfast. Drive back to Kampala with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a canoe ride on a swamp in search of the rare Shoebill bird. Get your picnic lunch, and later return to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight back home or to your next destination. Meal plan: breakfast and lunch.
